1) What time is check-in and check-out?

You can check in as soon as the rooms or beds are ready, which is usually by 3pm. If you arrive earlier, you are welcome to store your bags in the luggage room and use the common facilities. Check out time is 12noon.

2) Do you provide a map of Prague?

Yes! We provide guests with a free customized map of Prague full of great helpful information and recommendations of our favorite places to eat, shop, sightsee, and more. You’ll also receive discounts and special offers in selected restaurants and shops just by showing them your map and/or Czech Inn keycard! We have a jumbo-size map of Prague in our lobby with additional recommendations - make sure to ask receptionists if you have any questions.

3) What is included in the price?

Shared rooms: taxes, linens

Private rooms: taxes, towels, linens

4) What methods of payment does Czech Inn accept?

You may pay with Czech Koruna, Euro (at our current in-house exchange rate), or by credit card (with a 4% service charge).

5) Can Czech Inn accept payment in Euros or exchange Euros for Czech Koruna?

Yes. We use an in-house exchange rate of 24 CZK to 1 EUR (subject to change).

6) Does Czech Inn offer breakfast?

Yes. We offer an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast from 8:00am until 12noon for only 140 CZK. Breakfast includes fresh bread and rolls, jam, cheese, sliced meats, fresh vegetables and fruits, scrambled eggs (with and without English bacon), homemade muesli, cereal, yogurt, juice, teas, and bottomless premium coffee.

*If you purchase breakfast coupons upon checking in, we offer it at a discounted rate of 120 CZK.

7) How safe and secure is Czech Inn?

For the safety of our guests and their belongings, we offer:

8) Are the shared dorm rooms mixed-gender?

Yes. All of our shared dorm rooms are mixed-gender. We do not offer single-gender dorm rooms. Bathrooms, however, are either male or female. There are also several small shower and toilet rooms on the floor that are individually private. If you wish to stay in a single-gender room, please book a private room.

9) If we are travelling as a small group, can we stay together in the same room?

If you wish to stay together with friends, then it is best to book a private room. If that is not possible then the next best option is to book together under one reservation. Lastly, if you booked separately but would like to stay together then email us and we will do our best to put you together, although we do not make any guarantees.

10) Is there a place to eat and have drinks in Czech Inn?

Yes. Our Kavarna café/bar serves breakfast, snacks and drinks. And there’s a Happy Hour(s) from 6pm-8pm. The Kavarna also hosts events such as Trivia Night every Monday, Open Mic. Night every Thursday (check the cafe page for more) and occasional concerts with local musicians, comedy nights, holiday parties, and more! 11) Can Czech Inn fax my reservation confirmation to the Embassy so that I can apply for a visa?

Yes. If you will require a letter of confirmation of your reservation with company stamp and signature in order to apply for a visa, please allow up to 3 days time for us to prepare this document. This is a free service, however we do require a full non-refundable prepayment of your accommodation.

12) How do I get to Czech Inn from the airport, train stations, or bus stations?

13) How does Prague’s public transportation operate?

Metros run from 5am to midnight. Depending on the day and time, metros can be 3-9 minutes apart. Day trams also operate from 5am to midnight. From midnight to 5am, you can catch a night tram on most high-traffic tram routes. Night trams (and only night trams) are numbered in the 50’s (i.e., 51, 52, etc.). Tickets can be purchased in the metro station or from our reception:
• 18 CZK (20 minutes, one mode of transportation)
• 26 CZK (75 minutes, multiple modes of transportation)
• 100 CZK (24 hour pass, unlimited use of public transportation)
• Or, ask our receptionist about our discounted rental passes!

14) How do I arrange an airport transfer to or from Czech Inn?

Czech Inn recommends a shuttle service that can transport you to and from the Prague airport at a great rate (1-4 people for 550 CZK total; 5-9 people for 950 CZK total). If you are interested in booking this service, simply write to bohemianshuttles@gmail.com  with the following information:

15) What do I need to know when taking a taxi in Prague?

When taking a cab in Prague, we strongly recommend phoning a reputable taxi company. If possible, avoid hailing a cab on the street. Before the journey, request a printed receipt and make sure the driver sets the meter to zero. And, of course, it’s always a good idea to carry small bills and be discrete with your belongings.

* Fare from the airport to Czech Inn is around 600-700 CZK (Or, see #14 above for information about the recommended airport shuttle for 550 CZK.)
* Fare from the main train station is around 200 CZK
* Fare from the Holesovice train station is around 500 CZK
* In general, the starting rate should be 30-40 CZK, and then 28 CZK per kilometer.
* Avoid taxis that quote you higher prices than the rates stated above or that do not use a meter.

16) How close is Czech Inn to Prague's main attractions?

We are conveniently located only 15 minutes from Old Town Square by public transportation. Tram #22 takes you to Old Town, Mala Strana, and even directly to the Castle. Tram #4 takes you to shopping and more sights - Mozart's house for example. The tram lines also connect with all three metro lines. Plus, two main night trams run to our tram stop as well. By foot, it takes approximately 25 minutes to get to the city center.

17) Where is the closest parking garage to Czech Inn?

The nearest secured parking garage is located at Ibis hotel, which is only three stops away on the tram. The cost for parking is 20 Euro per day. You will find the information for the hotel below as well as a Google map with directions to get to the hotel. The best thing would be for you to park nearby the hostel to drop off your things. At that time our receptionist can point out the parking garage on the map for you.

18) Can I make a reservation if I do not have a credit card?

Yes. If you do not have a credit card or cannot use one to secure your reservation, we also accept advance payment in the form of bank transfers. Or, you may make a non-confirmed reservation in which you must call or email to confirm two days before your arrival. In this case, you must also arrive by 3pm or call again to reconfirm. This option is only available in certain situations, so email us and we’ll see what we can work out for you, info@czech-inn.cz.

19) Is there Internet access at Czech Inn?

Yes. We have free wifi in our reception lobby and Kavarna café/bar. You can also purchase internet time-codes to use our guest computers.

20) Is Czech Inn non-smoking?

Yes. All of Czech Inn’s facilities are non-smoking.

21) Does Czech Inn provide towels?

Yes. For those guests staying in our shared dorm rooms, towels may be borrowed from reception for only 30 CZK with a refundable 100 CZK deposit. Or, for guests staying in a private room with ensuite, towels are provided.

22) Is there a Laundromat near Czech Inn?

Yes. There is a laundromat only two tram stops from Czech Inn that has everything you need to do your laundry, even coffees and magazines. Or you can just drop it off and pick it up the next day. Just ask a receptionist for directions.

23) Does Czech Inn offer an international phone for guests to use?

Yes. Our international phone is available for our guests 24 hours a day at very competitive rates. Just ask the receptionist.

24) Can I borrow a hairdryer, iron, alarm clock, or adapter?

Yes. These items (and more) can be borrowed for free from reception. We’ll ask you to leave a deposit, but you’ll get it all back when the item is returned.

26) Are there any discounts (i.e. for ISIC card holders) or extra perks for staying at Czech Inn?

Okay, so maybe this isn’t a frequently asked question but we wanted to tell you the answer anyway. Just by having a Czech Inn keycard or one of our customized Czech Inn maps, you’ll have access to discounts and special deals in restaurants and shops around Prague.

Also, ISIC card holders receive a 5% discount for bookings made via our booking engine or by email. Mention your ISIC card in the comments field and we will subtract the 5% from the final price immediately. If you want to make a booking or check our rates, please feel free to enter your information in the bar above and click “book now”.
